This is an Information Meeting with a Question and Answer Session. The purpose of this meeting is for the NRC staff to meet directly with individuals to discuss regulatory and technical issues. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions of the NRC staff or make comments about the issues discussed throughout the meeting; however, the NRC is not actively soliciting comments towards regulatory decisions at this meeting.
Purpose:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff will discuss the NRC safety and environmental review processes for the review of the forthcoming construction permit (CP) application for proposed deployment of X-energy's Xe-100 reactor design at the Dow Seadrift operations site in Calhoun County, TX. A key topic to be discussed is how and when the public may participate in the NRC review process, if desired. Members of the public are encouraged to ask questions about the NRC's processes for conducting the review of the CP application.
