As requested by your letter dated January 3, 2024, enclosed is certificate of compliance No. 9338, Revision No. 5, for the Model No. 3977A package. Changes made to the enclosed certificate are indicated by vertical lines in the margin. The staff's safety evaluation report is also enclosed.
Croft Associates Ltd. is registered as a certificate holder and user of the package under the general license provisions of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Section 71.17, General license: NRC approved package, or 49 CFR 173.471, Requirements for U.S.
Nuclear Regulatory Commission approved packages. The approval constitutes authority to use the package for shipment of radioactive material and for the package to be shipped in accordance with the provisions of 49 CFR 173.471.

There have been no changes to the use or design of the package since its last approval and no other changes were requested.
The certificate has been updated to Revision No. 5.
CONDITIONS The following changes have been made to the CoC:
Condition No. 10 was revised to extend the validity of Revision No. 4 of the certificate to March 31, 2024.
Condition No. 11 was updated to reflect the new expiration date of Revision No. 5 of the certificate of March 31, 2029.
CONCLUSION Based on the statements and representations in the renewal request, the staff finds that these changes do not affect the ability of the package to meet the requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 71.
