Docket 71-0489 Rancho Seco Quality Assurance Program Approval for Radioactive Material Packages QA Program Approval No. 71-0489 REPORT OF CHANGES TO THE RANCHO SECO QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAM THAT DO NOT REQUIRE PRIOR NRC APPROVAL Attention: Shana Helton In accordance with 10 CFR 71.106(b) SMUD is required to submit a copy of changes to the Rancho Seco Quality Manual (RSLBD-01 0)(RSQM) that do not reduce commitments in the quality assurance program previously approved by the NRC. Changes to the quality program that do not reduce commitments in the program can be made without prior NRC approval.
During the period December 1, 2021 to November 30, 2023, no changes were made to the RSQM without NRC approval. RSQM, Revision 5, was reviewed and approved by the NRC as documented in letter "SAFETY EVALUATION REPORT (SER) FOR THE SACRAMENTO MUNICIPAL UTILITY DISTRICT (SMUD)
RANCHO SECO QUALITY MANUAL, REVISION 5" dated December 13, 2021.
Sent along with the SER was NRC Form 311, Quality Assurance Program Approval, No. 0489, Revision 9 approving the RSQM for activities governed by 1 0CFR Part 71.
The RSQM continues to implement the requirements of 10 CFR Part 71, Subpart H and 10 CFR 72, Subpart G. The individuals and organizations performing quality assurance functions continue to have sufficient authority, organizational freedom, and independence from cost and schedule issues.
