Enclosed is an application accepted by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) on November 2, 2023, from Watlow Electric Manufacturing Company for the export of pressurizer heaters to Doosan Enerbility Co., Ltd., in the Republic of Korea (ROK) for retransfer and ultimate use at the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant (Units, 1, 2, 3, and 4) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
We understand that the Executive Branch has accepted generic assurances from the UAE for the export of minor components to the UAE through the ROK. However, we would appreciate your assistance in obtaining the necessary assurances from the ROK. In previous component export cases, the ROK indicated that they will review each application before providing assurances.
