Rod Ejection Accident Methodology Topical Report, TR-0716-50350, Schedule Update On September 18, 2023, the NRC notified NuScale of the revised schedule for review of Topical Report (TR)-0716-50350, Revision 2, Rod Ejection Accident Methodology, (ML21351A399) that called for the staff to provide NuScale with the advanced safety evaluation (ASER) with no open items for proprietary material review by November 30, 2023. The NRC also notified NuScale that the review would require 1800 total staff hours to complete.
The staff is currently finalizing their evaluation and will provide NuScale with the ASER with no open items for proprietary material review by January 5, 2024. This new schedule was discussed with Wren Fowler on December 11, 2023. This schedule will support the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards meeting date of February 6, 2024.
