SUMMARY
OF September 14, 2023, PERIODIC ADVANCED REACTOR STAKEHOLDER PUBLIC MEETING On September 14, 2023, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held an information meeting with a question-and-answer session with stakeholders to discuss advanced reactor topics including:
Computer Code Readiness for Advanced Reactor Reviews and Quality Assurance Program Reviews for Advanced Reactor Applications.
The meeting notice is available in the NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) at Accession No. ML23201A038, and the presentation slides are available under Accession No. ML23200A301. The Enclosure to this summary provides the attendees for the meeting as captured by Microsoft Teams.
For each topic listed above, the NRC staff provided information and allotted time for stakeholder comments and questions. Stakeholders provided feedback on these topics and asked clarifying questions. NRC staff appreciates the feedback provided and no follow-up actions were identified.

The NRC staff provided updates of the Advanced Reactor Integrated Schedule of Activities on the NRCs public website at https://www.nrc.gov/reactors/new-reactors/advanced/integrated-review-schedule.html. The NRC staff noted that the schedule reflects activities that have recently been completed, updated, or added since the July 20, 2023, advanced reactor stakeholder meeting.
Dr. Stephen M. Bajorek made a presentation on the NRC readiness for advanced reactor systems analysis and provided an overview of the approach that the NRC is taking for computer code readiness to evaluate very many design concepts being pursued. He described that agency is working toward developing an Integrated Action Plan (IAP) for the staff review -
both for the near term and long term reviews of future applications Frankie Vega outlined NRC staff expectations for advanced reactor developer quality assurance programs to support high-quality applications. The presentation also covered issues encountered by the NRC staff during its reviews of advanced reactors quality assurance program descriptions and included lessons-learned from these reviews and interactions to date.
