OF CLOSED PRE-SUBMITTAL MEETING FOR THE FUTURE SUBMITTAL OF WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC COMPANY TOPICAL REPORT WCAP-18850-P/NP, REVISION 0, ADAPTATION OF FULL SPECTRUM' LOCA (FSLOCA')
EVALUATION METHODOLOGY TO PERFORM CLADDING RUPTURE CALCULATIONS FOR HIGH BURNUP FUEL (PROPRIETARY/NON-PROPRIETARY)
On November 15, 2023, a closed pre-submittal virtual meeting was held between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff and Westinghouse Electric Company (Westinghouse) representatives. The purpose of the meeting was for Westinghouse representatives to present proprietary information related to the future submittal of Westinghouse Topical Report WCAP-18850-P/NP, Revision 0, Adaptation of FULL SPECTRUM' LOCA (FSLOCA') Evaluation Methodology to Perform Cladding Rupture Calculations for High Burnup Fuel. The Westinghouse representatives started the presentation with a background on Westinghouses FSLOCA evaluation methodology and incremental burnup. The Westinghouse representatives continued the presentation with the details on fuel rod model assessment, and kinetics and decay heat model assessment, then concluded the presentation with an overview of the uncertainty analysis including treatment of regions and uncertainty contributors, and limitations and conditions.
By a letter dated October 17, 2023 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML23296A233), Westinghouse submitted an executive summary, and by a letter dated November 14, 2023 (ADAMS Accession No. ML23318A484), Westinghouse submitted the presentation slides. The meeting was noticed on October 17, 2023, and the meeting notice is available in ADAMS under Accession No. ML23290A186. The list of attendees is enclosed.
