OF CLOSED PRE-SUBMITTAL MEETING FOR THE FUTURE SUBMITTAL OF WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC COMPANY TOPICAL REPORT ECCS EVALUATION MODEL FOR TRITON11 (PROPRIETARY/NON-PROPRIETARY)
On November 14, 2023, a closed pre-submittal virtual meeting was held between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff and Westinghouse Electric Company (Westinghouse) representatives. The purpose of the meeting was for Westinghouse representatives to present proprietary information related to the future submittal of Westinghouse Topical Report ECCS Evaluation Model for TRITON11. The Westinghouse presentation consisted of two parts. The Westinghouse representatives started first part of the presentation with an overview of TRITON11. The Westinghouse representatives continued the presentation with a detailed overview of emergency core cooling system evaluation model, convective heat transfer coefficients, and core nodalization. In the second part the Westinghouse representatives presented information on counter-current flow limit (CCFL),
provided details on previous boiling water reactor CCFL testing programs and analysis methodology, and concluded the presentation with an overview of the proposed testing program.
By a letter dated November 10, 2023, Westinghouse submitted the presentation slides (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Package Accession No. ML23317A392). The meeting was noticed on September 22, 2023, and the meeting notice is available in ADAMS under Accession No. ML23265A168. The list of attendees is enclosed.
