REGULATORY GUIDES During the 710th meeting of the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards (ACRS),
November 1-2, 2023, the Committee considered the following regulatory guides. No response to this memorandum is requested.
REGULATORY GUIDES
- 1. Draft Guide (DG)-1421 (Regulatory Guide (RG) 1.128, Revision 3), Installation Design and Installation of Vented Lead-Acid Storage Batteries for Production and Utilization Facilities (ML23270B969). The Committee does not request a briefing on this topic (neither now nor after public comments are received).
- 2. RG 1.61, Revision 2, Damping Values for Seismic Design of Nuclear Power Plants (ML23178A178). The Committee does not request a briefing on this regulatory guide.
The Committee also discussed DG-4034 (Proposed Revision 4 to RG 4.7, General Site Suitability Criteria for Nuclear Power Stations, (ML23123A090)) and noted that the Committee was not informed of the issuance of the draft guide. ACRS management will discuss the process with NRC management to ensure proper notification of issuance of draft and final guides.
