This is an Information Meeting with a Question and Answer Session. The purpose of this meeting is for the NRC staff to meet directly with individuals to discuss regulatory and technical issues. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions of the NRC staff or make comments about the issues discussed throughout the meeting; however, the NRC is not actively soliciting comments towards regulatory decisions at this meeting.

Purpose:

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff will discuss the NRC safety and environmental review processes that would be used to review TerraPowers forthcoming Construction Permit Application (CPA) for the Natrium demonstration reactor. The CPA is expected to be submitted to the NRC by March 31, 2024. A key topic to be discussed is how and when the public may participate in the NRC review process, if desired. The public is encouraged to ask questions about the NRCs processes that would be use for the CPA review.
