SUMMARY
OF THE OCTOBER 27, 2023, OBSERVATION PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS ANALYSIS AND MEASUREMENT SERVICES CORPORATIONS PLAN FOR TOPICAL REPORT ON CABLE CONDITION MONITORING METHODOLOGIES The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) conducted a virtual observation public meeting/teleconference on October 27, 2023. The purpose of this meeting was for Analysis and Measurement Services Corporation (AMS) to present its plan for the topical report (TR) on cable condition monitoring methodologies.
The public meeting notice was posted on the NRC public website on October 16, 2023, and can be found under Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML23299A251. AMSs presentation materials for this public meeting can be found under ADAMS Accession No. ML23299A164 (Non-proprietary). The enclosure to this memorandum provides a list of the meeting participants.
During the open meeting, AMS representatives stated that AMS intends to submit a licensing TR on this topic and provided a general description of cable condition tests.

AMS provided a short summary of the following:
Goals of the presubmittal meeting.
Purpose of pursuing an aging cable TR.
A description of the testing and subsequent data collection for nuclear cabling.
At the conclusion of the meeting, there was an opportunity for the public to provide comments and ask questions. No members of the public made comments on the discussions.
The NRC staff provided feedback and asked clarifying questions on AMSs approach and scope throughout the presentation. AMS anticipates submitting its TR on aging cable management early next year.
