Attachment 1 L-23-052 Information Removed from the PNPP USAR Page 1 of 2 In accordance with Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) 98-03, Revision 1, Guidelines for Updating Safety Analysis Reports, licensees periodically report a brief description of information removed from the Updated Safety Analysis Report (USAR) and the basis for its removal. The following provides a summary of the information removed from the PNPP USAR and the basis for removal.

1. USAR Chapters 6.3 and 15B were revised to remove reference information pertaining to the LOCA analysis in effect prior to the 105% power uprate performed in 2000 as well as the change to the 24-month fuel cycle. This change updates the LOCA analysis discussion, analysis inputs, and results used in evaluating the change to GNF2 fuel. The change is consistent with the approved current analyses and inputs and does not change any inputs, analysis methods, or results. Currently, PNPP operates with a full core of GNF2 fuel bundles, and the determination was made to include the approved results, descriptions, and references that had been referenced in USAR 15B, within USAR 6.3 and remove outdated information no longer relative to PNPP. This change included the removal of analytical information that is not necessary to provide an understanding of the safety analysis methodology, input assumptions and results, or compliance with relevant regulatory and industry standards.
2. USAR Figure 9.5-1 was revised to reflect that the Emergency Operations Facility was removed from the training center and relocated to an offsite facility. This change removed descriptive information that is not important to providing an understanding of the plants design and operation.
3. USAR Figure 9.1-9 was revised to remove valve position designations NC (normally closed) and NO (normally open) from fuel pool transfer valves depicted in USAR Figure 9.1-9. The change is a minor change to remove excessive design information that is not important to the description of the facility or presentation of its safety analysis and design basis.
4. A sentence in USAR Section 9.2.7.2 that described the service water system was removed. The change removed descriptive information without affecting the level of detail in the USAR.
5. USAR Figure 9.4-7 was revised to remove redundant radwaste building ventilation system components that were also depicted on Figure 9.4-28. This change removed detail not originally provided in the Final Safety Analysis Report but was incorporated via changes to the system piping and instrumentation diagram and is considered the removal of redundant or unnecessary information.

6. USAR Figure 9.3-35 was revised to remove a degraded pressure gauge.

A suitable equivalent gauge could not be obtained in a timeframe to support plant restart from 1R19. An alternate component was installed in parallel via an engineering change. Figure 9.3-35 was updated to maintain configuration control. The removal of this obsolete information does not affect the scope, meaning, or level of detail in the USAR.
