ALL FEDERALLY RECOGNIZED INDIAN TRIBES NOTIFICATION OF THE PUBLIC OUTREACH MEETING ON THE FORTHCOMING TERRAPOWER CONSTRUCTION PERMIT APPLICATION (STC-23-071)
Purpose:
To provide notification to all Federally recognized Indian Tribes of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commissions (NRCs) public outreach meeting with TerraPower to be held November 7, 2023, 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM MT in Kemmerer, Wyoming.
Background:
By letter dated August 2, 2023 ( ML23214A199), TerraPower, LLC updated the NRC on its plan to submit the Kemmerer Power Station Unit 1 Construction Permit Application (CAP) in March 2024.
Discussion: This is an information meeting where the NRC staff will discuss the safety and environmental review processes for the review of the forthcoming TerraPower CPA for the Natrium demonstration reactor. A key topic to be discussed is how and when the public may participate in the NRC review process, if desired. Questions about the NRCs processes for the CPA review are encouraged.
