The Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) 1, on behalf of the industry, appreciates the opportunity to review and provide comments on the Increased Enrichment of Conventional and Accident Tolerant Fuel Designs for Light-Water Reactors Rulemaking - Regulatory Basis. The NRC requested that stakeholder comments be submitted by November 22, 2023. NEI requests a 60-day extension to the comment period to January 22, 2024. This extension is necessary to permit adequate stakeholder engagement to provide the requested information on this complex and important rulemaking.
