The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is publishing the following document in the Federal Register:
Title:
Final Rule: American Society of Mechanical Engineers Code Cases and Update Frequency.
- Description of the rule: This rulemaking primarily incorporates by reference into the NRC's regulations the latest revisions of three regulatory guides to include the American Society of Mechanical Engineers code cases (voluntary alternatives to engineering standards) that the NRC finds to be acceptable (or conditionally acceptable). In addition, this rulemaking also amends the NRCs regulation to revise the frequency of the inservice testing and inservice inspection program.
- Dates: The effective date of this rule is 30 days after publication.
- This is not a major rule as defined by the Congressional Review Act.
