ACTION: Request for State of Georgia Comment by 5pm Friday, October 20, 2023 - Vogtle Units 3&4, LAR-23-006, Rev.1, "More Restrictive Action for Tech. Spec. 3.1.9" Importance: High Mr. Simonton, I hope this email finds you well.
The subject license amendment request (LAR) from Southern Nuclear for Vogtle Units 3&4 was dated May 17, 2023 (ADAMS Accession No. ML23137A285), More Restrictive Action for Technical Specification 3.1.9 (LAR-23-006R1).
The LAR proposed changes to Technical Specification (TS) 3.1.9, such as a new NOTE allowing separate Conditions entry be added to the ACTIONS table, the Condition A description would be revised and the revision of descriptions for Required Actions A.1 an B.1. The licensee stated the NOTE allowing separate Condition entry and changes to Condition A would avoid unnecessary LCO 3.0.3 entries. The licensee stated changes to Required Action B.1 would address an existing non-conservative action.
The NRC is in process of finalizing its review of this LAR. Please provide your comments to me by 5pm Friday, October 20, 2023.
