This is a Comment-Gathering Meeting. The purpose of this meeting is for NRC staff to meet directly with individuals to receive comments from participants on specific NRC decisions and actions to ensure that NRC staff understands their views and concerns.
Purpose:
The purpose of this meeting is to communicate to external stakeholders the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commissions (NRC's) recent issuance of temporary staff guidance (TSG),
TSG-DORL-2021-01, Revision 3, "Risk-Informed Process for Evaluations" (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML23122A014),
incorporating observations from the first Risk-Informed Process for Evaluations (RIPE) review. Further, the purpose of this meeting is to discuss the staffs assessment of the recommendations submitted by the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI), in a letter dated April 19, 2023 (ML23163A048), regarding RIPE. In addition, the NRC staff will offer an opportunity to the industry and public to provide feedback/comments on the risk thresholds proposed by NEI and the NRC's assessment of NEI's recommendations.
