Hi, Mr. Yim, Just to clarify, you only want to add SNERDI as an intermediary, and not add two additional pumps to the licensees?

Yes, the amendment request is to only add SNERDI to the license, not to add two pumps to the license. Current license also specifies two pumps on each license.

I initially read the application to mean that you wanted to add the additional two heating

pumps. Please clarify?

The intention of this request is not to add two additional pumps to each license. The amendment request is to only add SNERDI to the license, After my reading of your email below, you only want to add SNERDI, and you have not yet exported the two pumps for each site, you are already authorized for.

Correct, the pumps for each site that Flowserve already is authorized to export for, we have not exported it. This amendment was to only add SNERDI to the license.

Hello Mr. Yim, I have been assigned to review your applications dated August 21, 2023, to export a quantity of two residual heat removal pumps and motor assemblies to Sanmen Unit 3 and also the export of two residual heat pump and motor assemblies to Haiyang Unit 3.

You are requesting an expiration term of 4 years for both export applications, correct? Yes, that is correct.

I have reviewed your licenses, I see that Flowserve has active licenses to export two residual heat pumps to both Sanmen and Haiyang (XCOM1323 and XCOM1321). Yes, correct. Amendment request was to add SNERDI to the export license.

May I ask, will these newly requested heat pumps plus assemblies be used as replacement equipment for the pumps the NRC has already licensed for Sanmen Unit 3 and Haiyang Unit 3? Both Sanmen Unit 3 and Haiyang Unit 3 are new construction/expansion, therefore these pumps will be newly installed in this location. They are not replacement equipment.

Have you already exported the residual heat pump and motor assemblies authorized under XCOM1323 and XCOM1321? No, we have not exported the residual heat pump and motor assemblies authorized under XCOM1323 and XCOM1321 What is the expected useful life of a residual heat pump for an AP1000 nuclear reactor?

The expected useful life of a residual heat pump is the design life of the plant.

Thank you so much for your attention. I look forward to reviewing your responses.
