UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION WASHINGTON, D.C. 20555-0001 August 22, 2023 ALL AGREEMENT STATES CONNECTICUT, INDIANA, WEST VIRGINIA NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCE TO THE SEALED SOURCE AND DEVICE EVALUATION WORKSHOP (G-116) COURSE (STC-23-061)
Purpose:
To provide notification to the States of students selected to attend the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commissions (NRCs) Sealed Source and Device (SS&D) Evaluation Workshop (G-116) Course to be held September 19-20 and September 26-27, 2023, virtually. Only States that are currently active SS&D and students needing initial qualification training have been selected.
Background:
The NRC provides funding to the Agreement States for training and the associated travel.
Discussion: Students selected to attend the September 19-20 and September 26-27, 2023, virtual offering of Sealed Source and Device Evaluation Workshop (G-116) Course are provided in Enclosure 1. Please provide this notification to each individual from your program that has been accepted to this course. Detailed guidance for students will be provided at least 2 weeks prior to course start.

INSTRUCTIONS TO STUDENTS ACCEPTANCE: Individuals listed in Enclosure 1 have been accepted for participation in the Sealed Source and Device (SS&D) Evaluation Workshop (G-116) Course. Only States that are currently active SS&D and students needing initial qualification training have been selected. This course is scheduled to be presented virtually on September 19-20 and September 26-27, 2023, provided by instructors from the NRC, the State of Texas and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
COURSE: The course begins at 10:00 a.m. eastern time on Tuesday, September 19th, and ends at 5:00 p.m. eastern time on Wednesday, September 20th and Tuesday, September 26th, and ends at 5:00 p.m. eastern time on Wednesday, September 29th.
Course lectures will be delivered using the MS Teams software, so you will need a computer with a dependable internet connection. You will also need a speakerphone, a webcam, or a headset with a mic in order to hear and communicate with the instructors.
In addition, each selected student will need to provide an Non-Disclosure Agreement NO later than September 8th or you will be automatically withdrawn from the course. Please return the NDA to astrainingandtravel.resource@nrc.gov.
Further instructions, including course schedule, will be provided via email to selected students.
