This is an Observation Meeting. This is a meeting in which attendees will have an opportunity to observe the NRC performing its regulatory function or discussing regulatory issues. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions of the NRC staff or make comments about the issues discussed following the business portion of the meeting; however, the NRC is not actively soliciting comments towards regulatory decisions at this meeting.
Purpose:
The purpose of this meeting is to provide an opportunity for stakeholders to discuss their comments submitted on the nine Advanced Reactor Content of Applications/Technology Inclusive Content of Applications Interim Staff Guidance (ISG) documents and the Draft Regulatory Guide (DG-1404), Guidance for a Technology Inclusive Content of Application Methodology to Inform the Licensing Basis and Content of Applications for Licenses, Certifications, and Approvals for Advanced Reactors, including the draft regulatory analysis for DG-1404. The NRC requested comments on these documents in a series of Federal Register notices all dated May 25, 2023 (88 FR 33922, 88 FR 33926, 88 FR 33938, 88 FR 33920, 88 FR 33928, 88 FR 33936, 88 FR 33930, 88 FR 33940, 88 FR 33924, and 88 FR 33846). The comment period on all documents was extended to August 10, 2023. Only comments that are submitted in response to the listed May 25, 2023 Federal Register notices will be discussed in this meeting.

Submitted comments can be accessed by searching regulations.gov for the Docket ID numbers NRC-2022-0073 through 0082 and then clicking on the "View Related Comments" at the top of the page.
A stakeholder who submitted a comment in response to one or more of the May 25, 2023, Federal Register notices listed above may request time on the meeting agenda to speak at the meeting. Such a stakeholder should submit a request to speak no later than August 18, 2023, to Michael Orenak, NRC, at the e-mail address (preferred) or telephone number stated above. The NRC staff will allocate speaking time depending on the number of requests received and the number and complexity of the comments submitted by each person who requests time to speak.
