EA-23-010 On July 11, 2023, representatives of Mistras Services met with Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) personnel, virtually via Microsoft Teams, to discuss two apparent violations that were identified in NRC Inspection Report No. 99902109/2023-01 (NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML23151A458). The conference was held at the request of Mistras Services.
Mistras Services representatives presented that, for the two apparent violations, one did not warrant escalated enforcement and that the other was not a violation. Additionally, Mistras Services representatives discussed correctives actions implemented and planned. A copy of the presentation slides is publicly available as ADAMS Accession No. ML23201A181.
The NRC asked questions during both open and closed portions of the meeting; however, no regulatory decisions were made by the NRC staff during the meeting. Before making any final regulatory decisions on this enforcement case, the NRC staff will review and consider the information provided by the licensee during the meeting, as well as additional information to be provided by Mistras Services in response to NRC requests during the conference. The attendance list is provided as enclosures to this summary.
