SUMMARY

OF PRE-SUBMITTAL ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW MEETING (DOCKET NUMBER: 50-461)

Dear Christopher Wilson:

By letter dated July 29, 2019 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) ML19210C877), Constellation Energy Generation, LLC (Constellation, the applicant), submitted a letter of intent to submit a license renewal application (LRA) for Clinton Power Station (Clinton), Unit 1.

On June 27, 2023, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC, or the staff) held a public meeting with Constellation to discuss the expected content of the upcoming submittal of the LRA for Clinton with a focus on the environmental review. The slides for the staff presentation the applicants presentation are available at ADAMS ML23145A133. A similar meeting was held the on June 28, 2023, with a focus on the safety review. A summary of that meeting is available at ADAMS ML23198A015.

Constellation provided its presentation involving Clinton. The NRC staff and applicant discussed the NRCs use of contractors for the environmental review, including contractors access to the electronic portal, the impact of the anticipated license renewal generic environmental impact statement renewal and the potential timing of an environmental audit. No members of the public provided comments or asked questions.
