Date(s) and Time(s):July 11, 2023, 11:30 AM to 01:00 PM ET

Location: Webinar

Category: This is a Comment-Gathering Meeting. The purpose of this meeting is for NRC staff to meet directly with individuals to receive comments from participants on specific NRC decisions and actions to ensure that NRC staff understands their views and concerns.

Purpose:

The purpose of this meeting is to provide an overview of the observations and best practices that the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff identified based on the first review using the Risk-Informed Process for Evaluations (RIPE) (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No.ML22054A006). In addition, Nuclear Energy Institute will discuss its proposals for the NRC staffs consideration to increase the frequency of use of the RIPE process, as communicated in its letter dated April 19, 2023 (ML23163A048), proposing to increase the risk thresholds for licensing actions submitted under the RIPE. Further, the NRC staff will offer an opportunity to the industry and public to provide feedback/comments on these issues.
