& Nonproliferation U.S. Department of State 2201 C Street, NW Washington, D.C. 20520

Dear Dir. Warden:

Enclosed is an application dated June 8, 2023, received by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) from GE-Hitachi Nuclear Energy Americas, L.L.C., requesting amendment No. 09 to its export license XR135/08. This license presently authorizes the export of two 1,350 Megawatts electric (MWe) (4,005 Megawatts thermal (MWt)) Advanced Boiling Water Reactors, to be built at the Lungmen site and to be known as Taiwan Power Nuclear Units, Lungmen 1 and 2.

The purpose of the amendment is to extend the date of expiration from June 30, 2023, to June 30, 2028.

The NRC will perform an internal review. The NRC intends to issue the requested license after the 30-day time period allotted for public review has expired, and it is determined that the applicable export license criteria are met. Please feel free to reach out with any questions to Licensing Officer, Joanne Savoy at Joanne.Savoy@nrc.gov.

Sincerely, 6/12/2023 X Peter J. Habighorst Peter J. Habighorst Signed by: Peter J. Habighorst Peter J. Habighorst, Chief Export Controls and Nonproliferation Branch Office of International Programs cc w/enclosures:
