SUMMARY
OF THE MAY 18, 2023, PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS RISK INFORMING THE LICENSE RENEWAL PROCESS - AGING MANAGEMENT PROGRAM XI.E3, "INACCESSIBLE POWER CABLES NOT SUBJECT TO 10 CFR 50.49 ENVIRONMENTAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS" On May 18, 2023, an Information public meeting was held between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff and the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) concerning the Risk Informing the License Renewal Process - Aging Management Program XI.E3, "Inaccessible Power Cables Not Subject to 10 CFR 50.49 Environmental Qualification Requirements." Participants included personnel from the NRC, NEI, the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), Industry and members of the public. The slides for the NRCs presentation are available at Agencywide Documents Access and Management Systems (ADAMS) Accession No. ML23136A550.

Summary:
The purpose of this meeting was to discuss proposed revisions to a risk-informed aging management program submitted by NEI on January 12, 2022, "NEI, Submittal of Proposed Revisions to the Aging Management Program "Inaccessible Power Cables Not Subject to 10 CFR 50.49 Environmental Qualification Requirements"" ML22019A292. NRC staff gave a presentation and identified a list of concerns with NEIs proposed revisions as summarized in ML23135A159. NEI, EPRI and industry stakeholders engaged in discussion on the resolutions to technical concerns. NEI indicated that additional information would be provided during the upcoming public comment period for the Generic Aging Lessons Learned Report updates.
