SUBJECT:

COVER LETTER FOR THE REPORT ON THE EFFECTIVENESS OF TRAINING AT OPERATING POWER REACTORS SINCE MAY OF 2022

Dear Mr. Gambone:

The Report on the Effectiveness of Training at Operating Power Reactors for a year from May 2022 until May 2023 is enclosed.

The Report on the Effectiveness of Training at Operating Power Reactors from May 2022 until May 2023 is enclosed. In the report, we concluded that accredited training programs at operating power reactors continued to meet the Systematic Approach to Training requirements contained in 10 CFR Parts 50 and 55.

The NRC observed the National Nuclear Accrediting Board (NNAB) and evaluated industry trends related to training. Licensees and the NNAB are generally identifying and correcting training issues at a level that support safe operation. If you have questions on any of the topics discussed in this report, please contact me at (301) 415-1004 or Mr. Keith Miller, Acting Chief of the Operator Licensing and Human Performance Branch at (301) 287-9227.

Sincerely, Russell Felts, Director Division of Reactor Oversight Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation

Enclosure:
