SUPPLEMENT TO AUDIT PLAN FOR THE REGULATORY AUDIT OF NUSCALE POWER TOPICAL REPORT SUPPLEMENT ENTITLED STATISTICAL SUBCHANNEL ANALYSIS METHODOLOGY, TR-108601, REVISION 1 INCORPORATING A LIMITED SCOPE AUDIT FOR ROD EJECTION ACCIDENT METHODOLOGY, TR-0716-50350, REVISION 2 By letter dated April 25, 2022, (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML22115A222), NuScale requested U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) review and approval of Topical Report (TR) Supplement Entitled Statistical Subchannel Analysis Methodology, Supplement 1 to TR-0915-17564-P-A, Revision 2, TR-108601, Revision 1. The purpose of supplementing the Subchannel audit plan is to annotate the extended duration and to add a limited scope audit review for TR-0716-50350, Revision 2, Rod Ejection Accident Methodology, (ML21351A399).

The audit will take place at NRC headquarters via use of the NuScale electronic reading room.

The audit entrance was held on July 13, 2022, as mutually agreed. The audit exit has been extended to May 31, 2023, based on the substantive changes made as revisions to the evaluation model in the Subchannel TR, which forms part of the basis for portions of the Rod Ejection TR methodology. The additional contents of the audit plan are provided as an enclosure.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES By letter dated April 25, 2022, (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML22115A222), NuScale requested U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) review and approval of Topical Report (TR) Supplement Entitled Statistical Subchannel Analysis Methodology, Supplement 1 to TR-0915-17564-P-A, Revision 2, TR-108601, Revision 1. REGULATORY AUDIT BASIS This regulatory audit is based on the following:

This regulatory audit is based on TR supplement entitled Statistical Subchannel Analysis Methodology, Supplement 1 to TR-0915-17564-P-A, Revision 2, TR-108601, Revision 1 (ML22115A222) and TR Rod Ejection Accident Methodology, Revision 2, TR-0716-50350, (ML21351A399)

REGULATORY AUDIT SCOPE The audit team will examine supporting documentation and calculations associated with the substantive changes made as revisions to the evaluation model in the Subchannel TR, which forms part of the basis for portions of the Rod Ejection TR methodology. The audit team will also meet with subject matter expert(s) to discuss details of the supporting information.

IV.

INFORMATION AND OTHER MATERIAL NECCSSARY FOR THE REGULATORY AUDIT The NRC staff will submit selected issues to NuScale that cover three categories: general clarifications, missing TR information, and requests to see supporting documents. Staff will request information be made available via the NuScale electronic reading room. Some information may be requested via requests for additional information so that it can be submitted on the docket.

V SPECIAL REQUESTS The NRC staff requests that NuScale provide subject matter expert(s), if necessary, to discuss the details of the audit material requested in Section IV of this audit plan.

3 VI DELIVERABLES The Subchannel audit initiated on July 13, 2022, will end on May 31, 2023 (which includes the limited scope audit review for Rod Ejection Accident Methodology, TR-0716-50350, Revision 2).

The staff will hold audit calls and/or meetings with NuScale as necessary to understand audit material. The NRC will inform NuScale of emerging information needs as well as documents that can be removed from eRR.

An audit report will be prepared and issued in accordance with NRR-LIC-111 within 90 days following the completion of the audit.
