MEETING AGENDA ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON THE MEDICAL USES OF ISOTOPES May 15-16, 2023 One White Flint North Building, 11555 Rockville Pike, Commissioners Hearing Room, Two White Flint North Building, 11545 Rockville Pike, T3-D06 North Bethesda, Maryland 20852 NOTE: Sessions of the meeting may be closed pursuant to 5 U.S.C. 552(b) to discuss organizational and personnel matters that relate solely to internal personnel rules and practices of the ACMUI; information the release of which would constitute a clearly unwarranted invasion of personal privacy; information the premature disclosure of which would be likely to significantly frustrate implementation of a proposed agency action; and disclosure of information which would risk circumvention of an agency regulation or statute.

Monday, May 15, 2023 OPEN SESSION

1. Opening Remarks C. Einberg, NRC Mr. Einberg will formally open the meeting and Mr. Williams will provide K. Williams, NRC opening remarks.

2. Old Business C. Valentin-Dr. Valentin-Rodriguez will review past ACMUI recommendations and provide Rodriguez, NRC NRC responses.

3. Open Forum ACMUI The ACMUI will identify medical topics of interest for further discussion.

8:30 - 11:45 4. Medical Related Events D. DiMarco, NRC Mr. DiMarco will provide an update on recent medical events.

5. Revisions to the Abnormal Occurrence Criteria R. Flora, NRC Mr. Flora will provide an update on the limited revisions to the NRCs abnormal occurrence criteria.

6. Medical Team Updates C.Valentin-Dr. Valentin-Rodriguez will provide updates on the Medical Teams recent Rodriguez, NRC initiatives and ongoing efforts.

11:45 - 1:00 LUNCH

7. Training & Experience for All Modalities H. Jadvar, ACMUI Dr. Jadvar will provide the Training & Experience for All Modalities subcommittee report on the potential impacts of ABRs termination request and their review of the NRCs process for recognition of medical specialty boards.

1:00 - 3:00 8. Extravasations Rulemaking I. Wu, NRC Ms. Wu will provide an update on the NRCs rulemaking that will require reporting of certain nuclear medicine injection extravasations.

9. ACMUI Reporting Structure C. Valentin-Dr. Valentin-Rodriguez will provide an overview of the current reporting Rodriguez, NRC structure. Members will discuss the reporting structure of the Committee and provide feedback to the NRC.

10. Decommissioning Financial Assurance for Sealed and Unsealed R. Harvey, ACMUI Radioactive Materials Dr. Harvey will discuss the subcommittees review of the NRCs draft proposed rule on Decommissioning Financial Assurance for Sealed and Unsealed Radioactive Materials.

3:15 - 4:45 11. Open Forum ACMUI The ACMUI will discuss medical topics of interest previously identified.

12. Administrative Closing C. Valentin-Dr. Valentin-Rodriguez will provide a meeting summary and propose dates for Rodriguez, NRC the fall 2023 meeting.
