TRIP REPORT FOR JUNE 8 & 9, 2022, SITE VISIT TO NUCLEAR FUEL SERVICES, INC FOR U.S. NUCLEAR REGUALTORY COMMISSION REVIEW OF THE U-METAL LICENSE AMENDMENT REQUEST On June 8 & 9, 2022, staff from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) conducted an observational site visit at Nuclear Fuel Services, Inc. (NFS) to facilitate the NRCs review of the U-metal license amendment request. The trip report contained in the enclosure provides the NRC attendees, list of documents requested for on-site review, and several discussion topics.
During the site visit, the NFS staff discussed details of their methodology for the integrated safety analysis, their basis for criticality safety and chemical safety, and their licensing basis commitments regarding natural phenomena hazards. The topics discussed during the site visit contain sensitive security-related information. Accordingly, the trip report contained in the enclosure is marked as Official Use Only, and is withheld from public disclosure. When separated from the enclosure, this memo is decontrolled and publicly available, in accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 2.390 of the NRCs "Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure."
