Scaletti, United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission, "Zion Nuclear Power Station, Units 1 and 2 - Exemption from Requirements of 10 CFR 50.54(w) and 10 CFR 140.11," dated December 21, 1999 As required by 10 CFR 50.54, "Conditions oflicenses," paragraph (w)(3), ZionSolutions, LLC is required each year to report to the NRC the current levels and sources of insurance that demonstrates it possesses sufficient financial resources to stabilize and decontaminate a reactor and reactor station site in the event of an accident. In accordance with 10 CFR 50.54(w)(3), this report is required to be submitted by April 1st of each year.

To satisfy the reporting requirements of 10 CFR 50.54(w)(3), ZionSolutions, LLC is submitting the following status of nuclear property insurance currently maintained for Zion Nuclear Power Station.

Facilitv Zion Nuclear Power Station Total Coverage

$50 million The insurance maintained is provided through an insurance policy purchased from Nuclear Electric Insurance Limited through Constellation Energy Corporation.

The above insurance policy provides coverage that satisfies the criteria specified in 10 CFR 50.54(w).

The coverage reflects an exemption from the requirements of 10 CFR 50.54(w) regarding the amount of onsite property insurance. The exemption was granted by the NRC in light of the permanently shutdown status of Zion Nuclear Power Station.

There are no regulatory commitments contained within this letter.
