STAFF RESPONSE TO THE OFFICE OF THE INSPECTOR GENERALS SPECIAL INQUIRY INTO THE U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION REGION IIS INSPECTIONS OF INDEPENDENT SPENT FUEL STORAGE INSTALLATIONS AT OPERATING REACTORS (OIG-20-012)
This memorandum responds to your February 21, 2023, memorandum (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML23053A241) transmitting the subject special inquiry report. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission appreciates the Office of the Inspector Generals (OIG) special inquiry into Region IIs independent spent fuel storage installation inspection program and finding as provided therein.
The OIG special inquiry report includes one finding with four subparts for consideration. The enclosure to this memorandum provides the staffs response to the finding and a description of actions taken and planned.
