On behalf of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) , and as directed by the explanatory statement accompanying the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023, I am submitting the NRC's report on its preparedness for accident tolerant fuel (ATF) licensing.

The enclosed report focuses on the steps the agency is taking to ensure that ATF licensing, including higher burnup and increased enrichment fuels, support projected deployment schedules.
