[External_Sender] Comanche Peak license renewal I have a home in Pecan Plantation, 10 miles as the crow flies from the Comanche Peak nuclear power. Most of my neighbors have no idea about the requested license renewal. I received no mailing regarding it myself. A 20-year proposed extension of the license should be thoroughly vetted through a comprehensive EIS that includes assessing the risks that include the many problems and concerns that have arisen since the original license 30 years ago such as earthquakes, drought, and aging infrastructure in the plant and the cooling pond. I oppose extending the license agreement for 20 more years of operation without further investigations of these issues and more widespread notification of area residents with subsequent education and public hearings.

I used to work in the nuclear energy industry. A lot has changed over the years. New technologies and safety measures are available. And there are many more people living in closer proximity to the plant since its original licensure. More is known about the effects of fracking, and more people world-wide are concerned about the lack of a good plan for storing the increasing amounts of nuclear waste.

Public safety has to be your number one concern, and I am not convinced you have addressed it adequately. I oppose renewing the license until you do.
