Follow up to 10CFR Part2L Notification for QualTech NP supplied Eaton TMR5 timing relays

Dear Sir or Madam:

As a follow up to QualTech NP's Part2L Notice dated November 28, 2022for Eaton TMR5 timing relays (NRC Event #

M122341A032), an extent of condition review has been completed and has identified additionalparts which have digital content that was not previously identified. The extent of condition review covered all orders (500+) received by QualTech NP that required a digital content evaluation. The affected orders are attached. As the specific application(s) for each utility is unknown, QualTech NP cannot determine if these programmable logic devices could affect the safety related function of the parts in question. The end users should evaluate whether the installed items are subjected to unevaluated EMI/RFI conditions or other application specific conditions when installed in the plant.

Root Cause:

QualTech NP's root cause investigation is currently in process.

Corrective Action Taken  :

Corrective action taken includes the generation of an enhanced, more detailed digital content inspection procedure and updated, formalized training for all personnel involved.
