VIRGINIA ELECTRIC AND POWER COMPANY RICHMOND, VIRGINIA 23261 January 25, 2023 Attn: Document Control Desk U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, DC 20555-0001 VIRGINIA ELECTRIC AND POWER COMPANY SURRY POWER STATION UNITS 1 AND 2 10 CFR 50.55a Serial No.:

RO Docket Nos.:

50-280/281 License No.:

DPR-32/37 NOTIFICATION OF FIFTH 10-YEAR INSERVICE TESTING INTERVAL EXTENSION The purpose of this letter is to notify the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) that Virginia Electric and Power Company (Dominion Energy Virginia) is extending the end date for the fifth 10-year lnservice Testing (1ST) interval for Surry Power Station (SPS)

Units 1 and 2. The fifth 10-year 1ST interval for SPS is currently scheduled to end on May 9, 2024.

The SPS Units 1 and 2 1ST program code of record is the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Code for Operation and Maintenance of Nuclear Power Plants (OM Code), 2004 Edition through 2006 addenda. Section ISTA-3120, lnsetvice Test lntetval, paragraph (d), of the ASME OM Code states:

(d)

Each of the insetvice test intervals may be extended or decreased by as much as 1 year.

Adjustments shall not cause successive intetvals to be altered by more than 1 year from the original pattern of intetvals.

As allowed by Section ISTA-3120, paragraph (d), SPS is extending the fifth 10-year 1ST interval end date for Units 1 and 2 by three months to August 9, 2024, to accommodate a scheduled spring refueling outage in 2024. Based on the new interval end date for the fifth 10-year 1ST interval, the sixth 10-year 1ST interval will now begin on August 10, 2024, and end on August 9, 2034. The new 10-year 1ST interval beginning and end dates of August 10 and August 9, respectively, will continue going forward to avoid future refueling outage conflicts. This adjustment does not cause successive intervals to be altered by more than one year from the original pattern of intervals.

Should you have any questions, please contact Mr. Gary D. Miller at (804) 273-2771.

Respectfully,

~

James Holloway Vice President - Nuclear Engineering and Fleet Support
