X ENERGY, LLC - ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF WITHDRAWAL OF THE TOPICAL REPORT, XE-100 LICENSING TOPICAL REPORT: GRAPHITE QUALIFICATION METHODOLOGY (EPID NO. L-2022-TOP-0051)
Dear Mr. Chapman:
By letter dated October 31, 2022, Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML22304A197, X Energy, LLC (X-energy) submitted topical report (TR) Xe-100 Licensing Topical Report: Graphite Qualification Methodology, for review by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff. The TR describes the method for qualification of graphite core structures used by X-energy for the Xe-100 reactor.
On January 3, 2023, (ML23003A803) X-energy requested to withdraw the TR after further review and discussion with the NRC staff in a closed meeting held on December 14, 2022, (ML22327A049). Accordingly, the NRC staff ceased review of the subject TR and closed the associated Cost Activity Code number.
Prior to X-energys request to withdraw the application, the NRC staff performed an initial screening of the report. The enclosure to this letter provides the NRC staffs feedback for X-energy to consider. If X-energy decides to re-submit the TR, please consider addressing the enclosed feedback in a future submittal. to this letter contains Proprietary information. When separated from the Enclosure, this document is DECONTROLLED.
