Title:
Meeting to Discuss the SFAQ 2022-01 (HHS Lab Audits)

Purpose of the Meeting(s):
Technical staff in the NRC Office of Nuclear Security and Incident Response (NSIR), Division of Physical and Cyber Security Policy (DPCP) supporting 10 CFR Part 26, Fitness for Duty Programs held a public meeting to discuss Security Frequently Asked Question (SFAQ),
2022-01 HHS Lab Audits and the NRC draft response to this question. While this question was received through the SFAQ process, the content of this question is not security related.
Attendees had the opportunity to ask questions of the NRC staff or make comments on the SFAQ 2022-01 draft response.
General Details:
The meeting began at 1 p.m. EST. The meeting was attended by 19 individuals, including staff from the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) and Fitness-For-Duty program personnel from licensee sites, and NRC headquarters staff. All meeting attendees participated via Microsoft TEAMS. A list of attendees is included as an attachment to this meeting summary. The meeting ended at 1:16 p.m. EST.
Summary of Presentations:
The NRC DPCP staff discussed the location of the meeting materials (agenda, draft SFAQ response) by displaying the documents on the NRC public meeting website, summarized the 10 CFR 26.41(g), Sharing of audits requirement pertaining to HHS-certified laboratories, and read portions of the SFAQ question and NRC draft response. Only one comment was received during the meeting. A representative of NEI affirmed support for the response developed by the NRC and the effectiveness of the process.
