VENDOR INSPECTION OF TARGET ROCK QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAM AND TITLE 10 OF THE CODE OF FEDERAL REGULATIONS PART 21 PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION
Dear Mr. Meehan:
This letter documents the United States (U.S.) Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staffs plan to perform an inspection of the Target Rocks implementation of your quality assurance (QA) program in accordance with the requirements of Appendix B, Quality Assurance Program Criteria for Nuclear Power Plants and Fuel Reprocessing Plants, to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Part 50, Domestic Licensing of Production and Utilization Facilities, and 10 CFR Part 21, Reporting of Defects and Noncompliance. Specifically, the QA and Part 21 program implementation, will be reviewed as they pertain to Target Rock design, qualification, fabrication, manufacturing, and testing activities for safety-related valves, components, and other items and services supplied to nuclear power plants. As discussed via electronic mail on December 13, 2022, the inspectors plan to begin the inspection on Monday, January 23, 2023, and will conduct the inspection through Friday, January 27, 2023.
Subsequent to the inspection, a report will be issued and transmitted to you via letter.
