SUMMARY
OF THE DECEMBER 15, 2022, OBSERVATION PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS TOPICS RELATED TO COLD PLANT AND OPERATOR EXAM PROGRAMS The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held an observation public preapplication meeting on December 15, 2022, with NuScale Power, LLC (NuScale) and Carbon Free Power Project (CFPP), LLC, for NuScale to present an overview of the hot and cold license program requirements needed by NuScale as compared to the existing requirements as they relate to cold plant and operator exam programs, as well as discuss a proposal for updating the guidance. NuScale also discussed the status of the NuScale Operator Exam Methodology and Learning Objective Based Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Catalog that will be submitted for review. CFPP expects to submit its COLA to the NRC in January 2024.
