Dear Kelly Fitch:
We have reviewed your letter dated April 7, 2022 (Agencywide Document Access and Management System Accession No. ML22102A021, non-public), requesting an interim authority to operate (IATO) for the Distributed Control System (DCS) and the Process Telephone System (PTS) for the High-Assay Low-Enriched Uranium (HALEU) cascade at the American Centrifuge Plant in Piketon, Ohio.
An IATO for the DCS and PTS has been granted for the HALEU cascade until March 31, 2023, by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Authorizing Official and is provided in the enclosure.
In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Section 2.390 of the NRCs Agency Rules of Practice and Procedure, a copy of this letter will be available for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC website at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room). The enclosure will be withheld from public disclosure.
