General Electric-Hitachi California State Historic Preservation Letter
Julianne Polanco, State Historic Preservation Officer Office of Historic Preservation 1725 23rd Street, Suite 100 Sacramento, CA 95816
Dear Ms. Polanco:
The purpose of the attached letter is to initiate section 106 consultation with the California Office of Historic Preservation under the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended, related to license renewal of the GE-Hitachi Nuclear Energy Americas LLC (GEH) Nuclear Test Reactor (NTR). The area of potential effects is the Vallecitos Nuclear Center Site and its immediate areas that may be impacted by continued reactor operations after license renewal.
The NRC has determined that there would be no adverse effect on historic properties located near the GEH NTR because of the proposed license renewal. The attached correspondence provides the relevant information requested in the California Office of Historic Preservation section 106 submission checklist. The NRC requests your written concurrence on the above determination.
