Dear Colleagues,
In support of our efforts to manufacture FDA-approved radioisotopes at our Airport Facility we request approval to add Po-209 to our list of approved radioactive materials. This material will be used as a tracer to monitor how polonium is transmitted through various steps in our radiochemistry purification processes.
We request to add the following row to Table 6.1.
Letter ID Isotope Form Activity Use BG Po-209 Any 1 mCi per source In NIST traceable calibration sources for use in calibration and 5 mCi total and checking of the licensee's radiochemical procedures and instruments.
