Dear Mr. Warden:

Enclosed is license application XW030 dated 09/20/2022, from Perma-Fix Northwest Richland, Inc. The application requests a specific license to return to radioactive waste consisting of residual ash and metal or non-combustible material that cannot be recycled to Slovenia The contaminated material will be imported from Slovenia under the general import license provisions of 10 CFR 110.27, once the waste export license application is approved.

Before taking action on this U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission license application, we would appreciate your assistance in notifying the Slovenian government of the proposed radioactive waste export and obtaining any comments that the government of Slovenia might have in the context of the Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent Fuel Management and on the Safety of Radioactive Waste Management. We also request your views as to whether the subject export will be Consistent with the Convention's guidelines.
