NRC Form 898 signed Completeness Determination for X-energy QAPD TR.pdf Mr. Chapman, Attached is the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff completeness determination for X-energys Quality Assurance Program Description Topical Report (XEQAPD 1.0). Based on a preliminary review of the report, the NRC staff determined that it provides sufficient information for beginning a detailed technical review. As discussed on September 13, 2022, with Ingrid Nordby, the NRC staff plans to issue the Draft Safety Evaluation by July 21, 2023, and the Final Safety Evaluation by September 19, 2023. If necessary, the NRC staff will issue requests for additional information (RAIs) by February 15, 2023. The NRC staff estimates a level of effort of 220 hours0.00255 days <br />0.0611 hours <br />3.637566e-4 weeks <br />8.371e-5 months <br /> will be needed to complete the technical review and issue the Final Safety Evaluation. The schedule and level of effort could change due to several factors such as the need for additional rounds of RAIs, unanticipated changes to the scope of the review, vendor delays, unsolicited supplements to the topical report, unexpected ACRS involvement, etc. The NRC staff will communicate, any changes to the review schedule or estimated NRC staff hours, including the reason(s) for the changes.
