APPENDIX B, continued (Incident Report of Sea Turtle Take)

Draw wounds, abnormalities, tag locations on diagram and briefly describe below.

Description of animal:

At the time of collection, the specimen was deceased, but no external damage was observed during processing indicating a possible cause of death. Specimen revealed evidence of bruising on portions of the plastron and on the ventral surface of the flippers. Also evident were the early stages of decomposition, indicated by a foul odor as well as by distinct swelling of the eyes, neck, and the tongue. Based on this evidence, it is likely the specimen perished at some point prior to its observation and subsequent collection at the facility. External tags were not observed, and an internal PIT tag was not indicated.
