SUMMARY
OF THE SEPTEMBER 14, 2022, OBSERVATION PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS THE CARBON FREE POWER PROJECT WHITE PAPER ON VOLCANIC HAZARDS ASSESSMENT IN SUPPORT OF THE CARBON FREE POWER PROJECT COMBINED LICENSE APPLICATION The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held an observation public preapplication meeting on September 14, 2022, with NuScale Power, LLC (NuScale) and Carbon Free Power Project (CFPP), LLC, to discuss CFPPs white paper regarding its approach to Volcanic Hazards Assessment. This meeting also included a closed portion to allow participants discuss proprietary information, including CFPPs schedule and plans for completing its activities related to conducting volcanic hazards assessment.
The staff made NuScales presentation slides for the open portion of the meeting available to the public prior to the meeting on NRC public meeting web page and via the Agencywide Document Access and Management System (ADAMS)1.
