Enclosed is an application (XSNM3832), dated September 13, 2022, received by the U.S.
Nuclear Regulatory Commission, from Battelle Energy Alliance (BEA) LLC. The application requests the export of low-enriched uranium, of 800.00 kilograms (kg) uranium, enriched up to 19.95%, containing up to 159.6 kg U-235, to France for fabrication into fuel elements and then returned to the United States to the Idaho National Laboratory, for their further disposition.
Please note that the applicant has requested an expedited review of this export license application. Assurances from EURATOM that the material will be subject to all the terms and conditions of an agreement for cooperation are required. Your assistance in obtaining the necessary assurances will be appreciated.
