The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is publishing the following proposed rule in the Federal Register:

Title:

Renewing Nuclear Power Plant Operating Licenses - Environmental Review.

Description:

The NRC is proposing to amend the regulations that govern the NRCs environmental reviews under the National Environmental Policy Act. The proposed rule would update the Commissions 2013 findings on the environmental effect of renewing the operating license of a nuclear power plant to account for new information and to address the impacts of initial license renewal as well as a subsequent license renewal term.

  • Dates: The public comment period for this proposed rule closes 60 days after publication.
