14 This *is SECY paper 78-63A.

The subject if Federal 15 Register notice cancelling the dollar for manrem rulemaking.

16 It announces a decision by the Commission not to conduct a 17 hearing to refine or reduce health cost figures previously ad-18 opted for low level radiation exposure.

19 The reasons for the decision are described in the 20 attached notice.

The primary reasons are:

specified in Appendix I, have been found to provide adequate 23 protection for population, *groups.

analysis making these items more precise, is warranted at this 5

point.
