CHAIRMAN HENDRIE: Let us please convene.
3 Somebody said they left me my schedule and they 4 didn't.
5 (Mr. Gossick hands the Chairman a copy of the 6 schedule.)
7 CHAIRMAN HENDRIE: That's what I want.
8 The first item before the Commission is, yesterday 9 afternoon you all ran out on me before I got a ch~nce to 10 take a vote. May I have your agreement to withhold the tape 11 of yesterday afternoon's closed meeting?
12 COMMISSIONER KENNEDY: Aye.
13 COMMISSIONER BRADFORD: What did we have a closed 14 meeting on?
15 CHAIRMAN HENDRIE: Personnel matters.
16 COMMISSIONER BRADFORD: In fact, I guess I left 17 long before the end of it. Aye.
18 COMMISSIONER GILINSKY: Aye.
19 CHAIRMAN HENDRIE: Okay.
20 Secondly, we have an affirmation item from 21 this morning. Sam will lead us in the reading of the 22 affirmation. You have got 30 seconds, Sam.
23 MR. CHILK: Okay, this is a memorandum from the 24 General Counsel to the SECY on expansion of the SECY's 25 authority to grant*extension of times. It recommends that

- 1 we amend our rules to let the SECY rule on procedural 2
matters and they :I_ist,, three: Extend the time* for the Commissio 3
to rule on a petition for review; extending time for the 4
Commission to grant review on its own motion; and extendirig 5
the time for Commission review of its own motion of a 6
Director's denial, with the understanding that this will be 7
exercised in accordance with the general policies 6£ the 8 Commission and that normally the SECY would not act except 9 ab;:the}1.:1::equest and recommendation of the General Counsel 10 and in accordance with the wishes of the Commission.
11 All four of you have voted for approval of that, 12 and I ask you to affirm.
13 CHAIRMAN HENDRIE: Those in favor.
14 (A chorus of Ayes.)
15 CHAIRMAN HENDRIE: So ordered.*
16 By the way, does the language in there say: "And -
